EXHIBITION - Pittsburgh, PA, USA Sept 14- Oct 20, 2007. American Caricature: An Exhibit of Political Cartoons - A World View of the United States by 34 political cartoonists. Opening Sept 14 - Oct 20, 2007, Three Rivers Arts Festival Gallery (TRAF)

This exhibit opened at Three Rivers Arts Festival Gallery in Pittsburgh, PA, USA on September 14 until October 20, 2007. It is a continuation of Gary Huck's touring exhibition 'Reflex' which was launched at CUNY Graduate Centre in New York in April. I have 2 artworks in this show which features political cartoonists from publications such as The Guardian (UK), La Jornada (Mexico) and The New Yorker.

My pieces in the show compare Australia's 'Anti-Terrorism Legislation 2005' to the USA Patriot Act, and explores the US/Australian alliance. It looks at the USA as an identity and its effect on Australia's political and social values.  At TRAF Gallery, 937 Liberty AveDowntown Pittsburgh - 15222

Carl Gopalkrishnan (aka Gopal)

Over the past two decades, Carl Gopalkrishnan's artwork has garnered international recognition for its ability to forge meaningful connections between cultural narratives in art and literature and the complex dynamics driving international law, intervention, and global conflict. Carl transforms our familiar cultural artefacts into new myths. Through his art he opens a door for legal and military minds to explore the creative, subconscious, and emotional nuances underlying doctrines that shape war and peace.
